Lothar Mentel

Lothar Mentel


Lothar Mentel is Chief Executive Officer for Tatton Investment Management and the Chief Investment Officer for the Paradigm Group. Prior to joining Paradigm, Lothar was the CIO for Octopus Investments since 2008, where he built a multi manager fund business that he grew to £1.6bn. Before that, he held senior positions with NM Rothschild, Threadneedle, Barclays Wealth and Commerzbank Asset Management. He began his career in Germany as a performance and risk analyst and later designed and launched the Barclays Multi Manager funds.

Lothar is a regular contributor to industry conferences, publications and industry body work-groups. He has over 20 years’ investment management experience.

Lothar was educated in Germany and holds a postgraduate degree in Business and Economics (Diplom Oekonom).

Steven Keshishoghli, CFA

Steven Keshishoghli, CFA


Steven is Senior Portfolio Manager at Tatton Investment Management. He has over 9 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining Tatton he was a member of the investment strategy team responsible for running the £18bn UK Railways Pension Scheme, an economist for the British Government planning future pension provision (NEST) and an investment consultant for a boutique private wealth management firm. He holds a First Class BSc in Economics, an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and an MSc in International Securities, Investment & Banking from the ICMA Centre Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Alex Antonius


Alex is the Chief Investment Consultant leading the imparting of the Tatton investment philosophy to the financial adviser community and their clients. He has been in the financial services industry since 1986 and has held senior positions at Friends Provident, Foreign & Colonial Asset Management, Octopus Investments and Nationwide Financial Services. Alex was educated in Holland, Germany and England. He holds an LLB (Hons) in Law, a BSc (Hons) in mathematics, a BA (Hons) in German and the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS). As a renowned expert for the cross-section between investments and product, Alex will be invaluable in advising firms on the most suitable application of Tatton’s platform focused investment strategies.

Phillipa Hatt

Phillipa Hatt


Phillipa is Tatton Investment Adviser Liaison Manager leading the instruction of advisers and their teams in the use of platform and investment advice systems. She began her financial services career at Lloyds TSB’s mortgage business, before moving to Bradford and Bingley as a Mortgage & Protection Broker. In 2008, Phillipa joined The Paradigm Group of companies as a technical trainer for the network’s investment product research software packages. Since then, she has supported Paradigm’s partners in the use and understanding of the Wrap proposition as the industry continues to develop under the Retail Distribution Review (RDR).

Jack Bennett


Jack joined Tatton as a Development Consultant and supports the distribution of Tatton’s services to the Financial Adviser community. Jack was previously based in Dubai working for one of the world’s leading IFA consultancy groups as a Financial Coordinator. After leaving Dubai, Jack spent some time working for GFI in Singapore on their South East Asia FX Options Desk. He has secured his CISI Introduction to Investments & Securities Award and is currently studying for his CII.

Alistair Coward

Alistair Coward


Alistair joined Tatton Investment Management in March 2013 as Assistant Portfolio Manager. He has previously worked at Slater Investments in compliance and client support and more recently Collins Stewart Wealth Management. He has a BSc in Physical Geography from the University of Exeter.

Helen O’Neill


Helen is Head of Governance at Tatton and is responsible for investment governance oversight, on boarding process oversight and product development. She has extensive experience of delivering high quality platform investment products to retail and high net worth individuals. Most recently Helen spent nearly 5 years at AXA Wealth where she helped develop Investment Strategy and the investment WRAP proposition, including tax wrappers onshore and offshore.

Prior to this, Helen spent a year at Coutts as a Private Banker, delivering solutions to private clients. She started her career at Barclays Bank, where she developed her skills over 5 years, particularly in the area of investments and product distribution. Helen holds a degree in History from the University of Wales.


Jim Kean


Jim is Head of Operations at Tatton and brings over 25 years of industry experience to the team. He manages the operations department and is responsible for IT development and the client on boarding process. Prior to joining Tatton he ran his own consultancy business – Bayesic Asset Management. Prior to this he spent 8 years as Head of Debt & Investment Research at Barclays Wealth with responsibility for £7 billion of assets. Jim has extensive expertise in capital markets, particularly Japanese government bonds, where he was Head of Bond Trading & Sales for Fuji International Finance. Jim holds a degree Mathematics from the University of Leeds.

Samuel Leary

Samuel Leary


Sam manages the investment communications function at Tatton Investment Management. He spent five years at Barclays Wealth as a quantitative equity analyst and fund manager for a bespoke long-short global equity portfolio. He was jointly responsible for communications, engaging directly with clients and keeping investors updated by producing daily and weekly global market commentaries. Sam regularly wrote both stock notes and thematic publications for a Private Client audience. He specialised in North American, Asian and developing market equities. In 2010, he helped set up the charities advice team at Octopus Investments. He was responsible for creating all client letters and has written numerous sales aids and provided content for the teams’ Investment Knowledge website. He also assisted with the weekly market commentaries. Sam holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Mark Murray


Mark joined Tatton Investment Management in March 2014 as an Investment Analyst. Before this he graduated from the London School of Economics and worked in Parliament as a Research Assistant.
